Politics and the End of the World...

I know I know, It's been almost a month since my last blog post.  With the holidays and the stress that comes along with it I was just not motivated to sit down and do this.     For the past couple of days I've been tossing around ideas for what to slap on here.   Between the end of the world (2012), GOP candidate debates and gas prices I've got plenty of options :)   I'm not too big on spilling negative about my life so I think I'll go with the other options.    By the way, be sure to let me know how all of your holiday experiences went and what if anything you did differently this year.

So how about those GOP candidates huh?  I don't know where any of you stand, much less the rest of the world who may or may not read this blog, but regardless we can all agree that it's more of a reality show than a political battle.    I'm a conservative myself, and I stand with my conservative/republican views with my vote, however I'm a bit disappointed with the GOP candidates and how their campaigns have turned out thus far.   If my memory serves me correctly, 8 candidates ( Paul, Huntsman, Romney, Perry, Bachman, Cain, Santorum, and Newt)  If I'm missing any then oh well, so much drama in these debates and campaigns to really care to keep perfect records.  Now, before I go any further, let me just say that I am glad that the republican party stepped up and made a statement that this current administration has to go.  Now I know not all the candidates that started their campaigns are still around, however my hats off to all of them for coming forward and speaking out for resolutions.   I'm sad that Cain suspended his campaign too.  I believe his tax plan and his experience in the private sector as a business owner was superior to any other candidates offers.  What I don't agree with is how the current candidates have been smearing negative adds about the other all over the television and radio networks.   Yes Yes I know, they are there because they work.   I still don't like it.   Newt, for example, nobly said in his first debate that he learned from President Reagan that "Thou shall not speak ill of another republican."  Look at him now, negative adds and forward accusations toward other candidates like Romney calling him a blatant liar.   There's a difference between a healthy debate, exposing the views and records of every candidate, and vomiting negative, disgusting adds and attacks against your opponent.   Maybe I'm alone here, but surely that's not the key to winning the nomination.    Again, let me lay the disclaimer down that I've only recently in the past couple years started to follow politics with any sort of consistency.   TV adds and stabs at other candidates have been the norm since the beginning of time.   It's just sad, that multiple republican GOP candidates are participating in the same thing against each other for the nomination against Obama.    Whats your opinion?

Moving on to the end of the world!   We all know the about the Mayan calendar, and the 2012 year supposedly being the end of existence as we know it.   I heard a quote on this issue recently that made me laugh.   "If the Mayans were so superior at predicting the future, then why aren't there any Mayans left?"  Hmmmm how wise is that?   Jesus specifically said that no one knows the day or the hour, but only the Father which is in heaven. -- Mark 13:32      Let me just give everyone who's worried about the end of the world a piece of advice.  John 3:16.   If you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, then you don't have to worry about the end of the world or what horrible crap will lead up to it.  Your home is in Heaven, your ETERNAL home at that.   If you don't know where you're going when you die, or when the end of the world arrives, (whichever comes first) then you'd have a pretty good reason to worry.   I don't like the idea of fear, because God didn't create us with a spirit of fear.  However there is another eternal home you will reside in if Jesus isn't the Lord of your life.  It's called Hell.  And Hell my friends, is fear.   That is all.

Well I hope you enjoyed the post everyone.  I promise I'll get on a schedule here soon.    Be sure to let me know about your holiday experience this year in the comment section below.   Peace on the streets!
